Cartmel Races take place over the Bank holiday weekends in May and August and are very popular for all ages.
The Blue House is close to many Lake District attractions - such as the village of Sawrey and the Hill Top home of Beatrix Potter, and Lakeside where you can travel by steam boat to both Bowness-On-Windermere and Ambleside. Newby Bridge is just 2 miles away with the National Trust park - Fell Foot. From Fell Foot you can catch a small foot ferry across to Lakeside where there are steam trains, steam boat trips up the Lake and Aquarium.
The bed and breakfast is a great base to enjoy many activities from - cycling, walking, canoeing and sailing. Well behaved dogs are more than welcome.
